Sæverud 125
Composer Harald Sæverud is one of Norways most important artists from the last century. Primarly a symphonist, he also wrote much for the piano, including a piano concerto. The piece was written in 1950 and ranks among his greatest pieces.
I had the great pleasure of playing the piece with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra conducted by Ingar Bergby in March. I was also happy to join Kristin Kverndokk for a talk on the composer, his life and his art. You can listen to the program and the performance on the link below.

Touring with In Arduis - September 2022
Last year famed Norwegian Composer Wolfgang Plagge wrote his ninth piano sonata “In Arduis” as House Composer at KODE. The work is a meditation on the difficult pandemic times. It was premiered at Troldhaugen in October 2021. The challenging political climate brought even more darkness to the piece.
It is very interesting to play contemporary music, and this piece in particular, to an audience who often expect to be entertained when attending a concert. This piece does not make us forget about the problems of our current daily lives - it reflects it in the most expressive way.
The problems of the world are real - and music can help us through them.

Programleder: Stein Eide.

I dream about making music flow without too much interference
It was somehow a coincidence that I started playing the piano, says Christian Grøvlen. We had a piano at home and one day when I was sitting playing for myself, my mother asked if I would like to take lessons. I might as well. Read the rest of the interview her:
